Assistant Supervisor - Child Protection - Rotational Schedule - Eligibility List
The Ministry of Social Services is seeking an Assistant Supervisor for the Child Protection team in Buffalo Narrows. This unique opportunity offers a flexible work rotation in a Northern location. Over a four-week average period, you will work 11-hour days (Monday to Saturday) with scheduled days off. Staff housing may be provided, and travel time from your home location to Buffalo Narrows may be compensated.
We are looking for a strong leader who is committed to improving the lives of children and families. You will coach, mentor, and train staff, provide guidance in the absence of the supervisor, and ensure programs deliver protective, preventative, and support services using the Family Centred Case Management and P.R.I.D.E. Models of Practice. You will act as a liaison with First Nations Child and Family Services and community agencies, assist with service delivery between programs and partner agencies, and may represent the Ministry on committees.
Ideal candidates demonstrate respect, empowerment, and professionalism, and have knowledge of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence indicators, and multicultural beliefs, particularly First Nations and Metis. You should be experienced in social work theories, policy, and practice, and skilled in coaching and mentoring professional staff.
To qualify, you must hold a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university approved by SASW/CASW or CASWE, along with several years of experience in Child Protection/Childrens Services and supervising professional staff. A valid Saskatchewan drivers license is required.
