Description

Anchor & Thread is seeking a motivated and compassionate Community Outreach Worker to join our prevention and outreach team. This position plays a key role in strengthening community connections, facilitating education, and promoting wellness and prevention initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Organize and facilitate Community of Practice meetings with partner agencies.
Lead and support psychoeducational groups focused on awareness, prevention, and empowerment.
Collaborate with the prevention team to deliver outreach activities and community education.
Conduct community surveys and gather data to identify service gaps and inform programming.
Build relationships with community organizations, service providers, and individuals.
Maintain accurate records and provide reports as required.
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in a human services field is an asset; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
Must submit a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to employment.
This is a part-time (30 hours/week), temporary position with the possibility of extension based on funding and organizational need.
