Anchor & Thread Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Justice Support Worker to join our team. This position provides direct support to victims of gender-based violence as they navigate the justice system, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
Work alongside the counselling team to support clients involved in the justice system.
Collaborate with RCMP, Victim Services, and Crown Prosecutors to coordinate services and information.
Attend legal proceedings and advocate for clients rights and safety.
Provide emotional support, information, and referrals to victims of gender-based violence.
Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and reports as required.
Participate in community networking and education as part of the prevention and justice response team.
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in a human services field is an asset; equivalent work experience will be considered.
Knowledge of the justice system and trauma-informed practice preferred.
Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
Must submit a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to employment.
This is a part-time (30 hours/week), temporary position from January to December 2026, with the possibility of extension based on funding.
