Description

Role:
    Work directly with families in crisis, creating individualized, strength-based plans that address the needs of the family, align with the Ministry of Social Services goals, and meet program expectations.
    Build professional rapport with clients by offering consistent, flexible, and reliable support while upholding clear and healthy boundaries.
    Promote healthy child development through guidance, role modeling, and encouraging safe, nurturing interactions between family members.
    Provide safe and reliable transportfor clients to attend appointments, access community services, and participate in supervised visits.
    Teach and model essential life skills, appropriate boundaries, effective parenting strategies, household management, and daily living skills to foster independence and stability.
    Support clients in developing problem-solving skills, accessing community resources, and building resilience in challenging situations.

Qualifications:
    Grade 12 required; post-secondary in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Addictions Certificate, or related human services preferred, or equivalent direct experience
    Knowledge of client-centered and strength-based approaches; understanding of MSS processes an asset
    Strong professional boundaries, initiative, reliability, flexibility, organization, and ability to work independently
    Skilled at meeting deadlines and achieving outcomes
    Computer literacy
    Strong communication, interpersonal, observation, and decision-making skills
    Awareness of community resources, child development, parenting strategies, child maltreatment, and family dynamics
    Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle; will be required to transport children and families
    Criminal Record Check required
