Description

The Ministry of Highways is committed to providing an integrated transportation system supporting economic growth and prosperity for Saskatchewan citizens.

The Opportunity

Fleet Operations within the Ministry of Highways is currently seeking a highly motivated Fleet Shop Manager for the Prince Albert shop.

Under the general direction of the Fleet Operations Director, you will work as the team leader in one of the ministries largest equipment repair depots delivering repair, new unit upfitting, fabrication, procurement, and assembly work on the provincial fleet of equipment and vehicles.

In this position, you will:

Oversee a team of journeypersons and apprentice staff.
Assign and monitor tasks in a manner that provides a safe work environment for all employees while maintaining a required level of service to internal clients.
Co-ordinate daily shop activities.
Collaborate with external stakeholders.
Provide staff supervision and development needs.
Overnight travel is required periodically.

Ideal Candidate

To be considered for the position, our ideal candidate may have previous types of work experience:

Managing or providing supervision in a Heavy Equipment and Truck Repair Shop.
Hold a ticket as a Journeyperson Technician in either the Heavy Equipment, Truck and Transport or Agricultural Machinery Technician Trades which are recognized by the province of Saskatchewan.
Valid Saskatchewan driver's license, preferably class 3A or higher.
