The Role
Reporting to the general supervisor, maintenance, you will be responsible for leading a team of underground heavy duty mechanics in a way that sustainably maximizes the use of assets. You will ensure processes are followed, and work with your team to make improvements as opportunities are identified.
In this role, you will:
-Oversee, coach, and develop a team of tradespeople in the maintenance of mine production and development equipment;
-Ensure that planned and ad hoc maintenance activities are carried out in an efficient and responsive manner;
-Assist with other supervisors and departments to achieve common goals, as required;
-Play an active role in operational reliability and asset health; and
-Participate in predictive, preventative, and condition-based maintenance.
Required:
-Valid Saskatchewan or interprovincial journeyperson heavy duty equipment mechanic certification or a technical diploma in a related mechanical discipline
-10 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent
-Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
-Three years minimum working in an underground mining environment
-Able to obtain a Saskatchewan supervisors certificate and first aid certificate
-Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Previous underground mobile equipment maintenance experience
-Experience using SAP-based maintenance applications
