Description

The Town of Nipawin is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to provide strategic leadership and oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing municipality. Situated near Tobin Lake and the Saskatchewan River, Nipawin is a thriving community of approximately 4,500 residents, recognized for its natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and strong community spirit.

Role Overview
Reporting directly to Council, the CAO is the senior administrative officer responsible for the overall management, leadership, and administration of the Town. The CAO ensures policies, programs, and services are implemented effectively, in line with Council direction
and provincial legislation.

Key Responsibilities
-Implement Council-approved policies, plans, and projects efficiently
-Advise Council on strategic, operational, and legislative matters
-Oversee budgets, financial management, and regulatory reporting
-Lead and mentor staff, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment
-Engage with community stakeholders to promote transparency and effective
governance
-Drive continuous improvement in municipal services and operations
-Oversight of asset management and long-term capital planning

Minimum Qualifications:
-Standard Certificate issued by the Urban Board of Examiners
-Post-secondary education in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
-Strong knowledge of municipal legislation and administration
-Proven experience in progressively responsible leadership roles in municipal government or a related sector
-Strong leadership, communication, and human resources skills
-Ability to work effectively with Council, staff, and the community
