Job Description
The District of Lakeland No. 521 is seeking a reliable and organized Office Assistant to support day-to-day municipal operations. The successful candidate will provide customer service, manage administrative tasks, and assist with financial and records management duties.
Duties & Responsibilities
-Respond to customer and ratepayer inquiries
-Maintain complaint/concern logs
-Organize and maintain filing systems and office records
-Perform daily receipting and assist with basic accounting tasks
-Ensure compliance with records retention and destruction policies
-Update policy manuals and office documentation
-Manage office supply inventory and ordering
-Record landfill activity and conduct ISC research when required
-Process incoming/outgoing mail
-Manage key allocations and land ownership changes
-Prepare bank deposits
-Assist with municipal election procedures
-Support website updates and general office duties
-Perform other tasks as assigned by the CAO
Qualifications
-Minimum two years experience in an office environment
-Basic understanding of accounting principles
-Proficient with computers and office software
-Strong public relations and customer service skills
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-Effective organization, time management, and multitasking abilities
