Primary Focus
The Wellness & Footcare Nurse is responsible for the overall development, coordination, and implementation of training programs, foot care, and wellness services within Home Support Services in LutherCare Communities (LCC). This position will assist the service area to achieve organizational priorities and goals. Reporting to the Home Help Manager (the Manager), the Wellness & Footcare Nurse supports strategy by executing divisional plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction. Wellness & Footcare Nurse is responsible for ensuring that the quality of the Foot Care services to residents in our facilities setting is compliant with legislation and standards of practice The Wellness & Footcare Nurse demonstrates service area expertise to enable an innovative and positive working climate in a resident-first culture. The Wellness & Footcare Nurse works within the service area and cross-functionally to support operations in the organization.
Education:
Diploma in Practical Nursing
Registered and in good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nursing (SALPN)
Must have a Footcare Certificate, preferably an Advanced Footcare Certification
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
Access to a vehicle and insurance
Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in community health and gerontology nursing
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques including courses or experience in the care of the aging population is desirable
Two years of experience in wellness program development
