Location: Broadway Terrace and Milton Heights
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Broadway Terrace and Milton Heights. Reporting to the Support Service Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our buildings, suites, and grounds are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same  from preventive maintenance and general repairs to assisting residents and coordinating contractors, your work helps create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who lives and works in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, fire safety, lighting, etc.).
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and tenants in a timely and professional manner.
- Carry out general repairs (carpentry, painting, plumbing, appliance servicing, etc.).
- Maintain grounds and exterior areas (snow removal, lawn care, seasonal upkeep).
- Monitor safety systems including fire alarms and emergency lighting.
- Assist with suite turnovers and inspections for new residents.
- Coordinate and oversee contractors when required.
- Provide courteous, respectful customer service to residents and staff.
- Remain on-call for emergency issues as needed.
What You Bring
- 25 years experience in building or facilities maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire panels, mechanical controls).
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor to moderate repairs independently.
- Fireman Boiler Operator Certificate (required).
- Valid Class 5 drivers license; other safety certifications (WHMIS, First Aid, confined space) are asset.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and handling manual work.
