Western Grains Research Foundation (WGRF) is a farmer funded and directed crop research funding organization. We are committed to increasing the profitability and sustainability of Western Canadian farmers through excellence in crop research. As Accounting Clerk, you will be providing support for the accounting, financial, and administrative activities of WGRF. This is a full-time position in office.
DUTIES
Record financial transactions in Quickbooks.
Process accounts payable, including expense claims.
Prepare supporting documentation for the annual audit.
Assist with annual tax and other corporate filings (Registered Charity Information Return, Workers Compensation, and GST returns).
Prepare monthly bank and other reconciliations.
Provide other relevant accounting support as required.
Provide support for research and organization administration.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Relevant post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or Finance (Diploma or Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred).
Three-years of related experience including full cycle year end accounting.
Skilled with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
Self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills.
Commitment to a positive workplace culture that is tolerant, patient, and respectful of others.
