Hendrix Genetics Swine (Hypor Inc. Business Unit), under Hendrix Genetics, a world class multi-species breeding company, is currently looking to fill the part-time permanent position of Swine Herdsperson at our Garratt Farm Facility near Abernethy, Saskatchewan. Key responsibilities for this position include providing animals with basic care and feeding, maintaining the health and welfare of animals. This position reports to the Manager of Quality & Breeding Selections Canada.

Tasks/Activities  Actions required to execute responsibilities:
    Daily feeding and general care of boars, ensuring appropriate environment and availability of feed and water;
    Prepare and execute physical animal inventories, ensuring all animals are properly recorded in inventory;
    Monitor animals with particular emphasis on health and well-being;
    Advise management of any concerns or problems;
    Inspect all animals and systems daily;
    Maintain and follow all production, health and safety protocols;
    Ensure facility (barn and office) is clean;
    Laundry as assigned;
    Minor facility maintenance.

Work Schedule:
    Required to be present at barns daily to perform basic chores, 7 days/week
    Actual hours and work schedule will vary, with a minimum guarantee of 4 hours paid per day.
    Pay rate is $19/hr

Education (Minimum Level):
    Grade 12
