Description

The Ministry of Social Services is seeking caring, empathetic individuals to join Disability Programs, Crisis and Respite Services at Southwood Home in Prince Albert. This program provides transitional housing and planned respite services to support individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting independence and well-being. We offer thorough onboarding, including safety training, and a collaborative, client-centered environment focused on trust, creativity, and positive outcomes.

Our ideal candidate is patient, proactive, adaptable, and committed to helping others. You are non-judgmental, celebrate diversity, and thrive in challenging situations while maintaining a strong work ethic. You value learning, embrace change, and enjoy making meaningful differences in peoples lives.

Knowledge and skills typically come from on-the-job experience, but prior work with individuals with intellectual disabilities or completion of a Special Care Aide Program is an asset. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Candidates must be legally eligible to operate a Ministry vehicle. This is a shift-work position in a 24/7 program, and employees may encounter behavioral challenges; PART training is provided to reinforce safety.

Responsibilities include supporting daily living and life skills, applying safety practices, and fostering positive, engaging experiences for individuals.
