The Child and Youth Development Worker supports the overall health, growth, and development of infants, children, and youth within Waterhen Lake First Nation. This position provides hands-on support and developmental programming under the guidance of the Physiotherapist and in collaboration with Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), and Maternal Child Health (MCH) teams.
Responsibilities
Clinical and Developmental Support
o Assist Physiotherapist, OT and SLP in delivering developmental therapy programs for infants, children and youth
o Provide developmental support sessions in home, school, clinic or community settings
Health Promotion and Education
o Collaborate with the MCH team to organize and deliver maternal and child health activities
o Lead and support health promotion activities for infants, children and youth
Family Resource Centre Leadership (FRC)
o Oversee day-to-day operations (once established)
Program Coordination and Community Engagement
Team and Departmental Support
Requirements
Education Grade 12. Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, or Community Health is an asset
Experience working with infants, children and families in a community or clinical setting
Knowledge of child development principles and culturally responsive care
Ability to work independently and with a team
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation
