Description

You will join a team committed to delivering justice through fair and effective prosecutions, promoting safe communities, and working with justice partners to implement resolutions.

We are looking for a dedicated Crown Prosecutor who is eligible for and maintains membership in good standing with the Law Society of Saskatchewan. The ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and analytical abilities, and effective case management and organizational skills. You must be able to meet short deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate proficiency with MS Office and legal research tools. Experience with CJIMS and litigation in criminal law is an asset but not required.

Key knowledge includes criminal law, ethics, and courtroom procedures. Responsibilities include carriage of criminal, quasi-criminal, and regulatory prosecutions in Provincial Court and Court of Kings Bench, including docket court, trials, and summary conviction appeals. Additional duties involve reviewing police reports, advising police, providing legal opinions, and participating in legal education. Travel, occasional evenings, and weekend work may be required.
