Description

The Ministry of Environment manages Saskatchewans environment responsibly to support sustainable growth through transparent, evidence-based decision-making. We deliver programs aligned with government policy, promote collaboration and innovation, and provide flexible work arrangements in a supportive team culture.

The Climate Resilience Branch is seeking a Team Lead for its Policy Unit. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-priority issues for executive leadership and government. You will supervise a small team of senior policy analysts while also performing senior-level policy work, including assessing climate change policy options, supporting implementation of Prairie Resilience, analyzing trends, evaluating emissions management frameworks, preparing Cabinet materials, and collaborating across ministries to advance sustainable economic growth.

The ideal candidate is decisive, strategic, and able to foster a respectful, collaborative environment. Strong oral and written communication, organizational skills, and the ability to motivate others are essential. Candidates should have either one year of supervisory experience or two years leading projects without formal authority, plus four years in policy development, analysis, and reporting. You must be able to communicate complex issues clearly, manage multiple priorities, and understand government processes and constraints.

Knowledge of climate change, sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions, intergovernmental relations, and regulatory processes is an asset. Typically, qualifications are obtained through post-secondary education in public policy, administration, political science, economics, or natural sciences, combined with related professional experience. A valid Class 5 drivers license and occasional overnight travel are required.
