Experience
- Min 2 years' exp. as an active peer supporter & actively working as an ACP/EMT-P
Education
- Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)
Licenses
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
Knowledge and Abilities
- Assist in recommending the appropriate resources after a critical incident
- Instructor level certification in Psychological Body Armor
- Understand the EMS area and operational demands including supports and services
- Assist other peer supporters with immediate access to mental health supports
- Ability to provide peer support when an EMS staff member is in a crisis state
- Instructor in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Living works program
- Instructor level certification in Critical Incident Stress Management Group and Individual Modules
- Recognized peer provider & understand the processes of WCB & insurance claims
- Understand the unique cultural environment of the working groups are necessary
- Support effective resiliency and recovery programs for critical incidents
- Ability to create, support and deliver presentations to EMS staff & leadership
- Instructor certification in future courses to stay current w/ the needs of EMS.
- Instructor level certification in Emotional Resilience Skills Training (ERST).
