The Role
The Student, Lab Technologist positions resides in the Key Lake Chem Lab, under technical services and directly reports to the laboratory supervisor. The successful candidate will work a term of approximately four or eight months beginning in May 2026.
In this role, you will:
-Be responsible for day-to-day analysis of laboratory samples by wet chemistry and instrumental methods.
-Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities within the lab operation and assist with corrective and preventative action planning and implementation.
-Perform basic maintenance of analytical instrumentation in the lab and work on daily operational and data analysis.
Required:
-You will be entering your third or fourth year as university student in chemistry, or your second year as a chemical technology student
-Effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
-Demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety
-Coachable, open to feedback and a team player
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
-You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco
Recommended:
-Experience or familiar with XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC, and other analytical instrumentation
-Experience or familiar with Microsoft Suite and SAP LIMS
