Position Overview
Under the direction of the Prevention Services Manager, the Cultural Coordinator will design, promote, and deliver cultural initiatives that foster a strong sense of identity, awareness, and pride within the Little Red River Reserve-Montreal Lake Cree Nation. A core aspect of this role is integrating cultural programming into the prevention continuum supporting primary and secondary prevention objectives to build resilience, hope, and wellness among our children, youth, families, and community members

Overview:
Land-based learning uses our traditional territory as a living classroom to transmit Cree cultural teachings, language, and ecological knowledge. By grounding prevention services in on-the-land experiences such as medicine walks, canoe trips, hunting, trapping, gathering, fishing, and seasonal harvesting participants reconnect with the land, deepen their cultural identity, and strengthen family and community bonds.
