Summer Student JobThe Social Media, Communications & Engagement Student will help grow the Foundations digital presence by creating engaging content, supporting media outreach, and sharing stories of community impact. This role offers hands-on experience in communications, public relations, and marketing while advancing the Foundations mission of connecting donors and charities through storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and grow social media accounts through consistent posting and engagement.
* Plan and implement campaigns promoting the Foundations work and events.
* Create high-quality visual and written content (posts, videos, graphics) aligned with brand standards.
* Assist with press releases, media advisories, and booking media segments.
* Support a communications calendar integrating social and media timelines.
* Monitor analytics and prepare performance reports.
* Collaborate with student teams to promote events and donor stories.
Qualifications
* Experience managing social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).
* Strong writing and storytelling skills for diverse audiences.
* Proficiency in Canva; Adobe Suite knowledge is an asset.
* Basic understanding of media relations and public communications.
* Excellent verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail.
* Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Interest in nonprofit communications, marketing, or PR is an asset.
