What You'll Do:
Provide day-to-day care, support and therapeutic intervention to youth in a residential setting.
Develop and implement engaging activities that promote personal growth, cultural awareness, and community involvement.
Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every young person feels valued and respected.
Collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals to create individualized care plans.
Be a role model and mentor, guiding youth through life's challenges and celebrating their successes.
Other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Secondary Education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is considered an asset.
Previous experience working with youth, particularly Indigenous youth, in a care or support role.
Understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and issues affecting Indigenous communities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with youth, families, and team members.
Ability to build trusting relationships, show empathy, and provide emotional support.
Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and find constructive solutions.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
Valid First Aid/CPR Level C Certification
Recent Criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License
