Description

The Ministry of Highways is offering a permanent full-time Equipment Operator position in Tisdale, SK. As part of the Operation and Maintenance Division, you will help maintain Saskatchewans vital transportation network of roads, highways, and airports. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is adaptable, approachable, and self-driven. Candidates must possess a valid Class 1A license and provide a current drivers abstract if interviewed. Strong situational awareness and sound judgment are critical, as you will make important decisions in extreme and changing weather conditions to ensure public safety.

Key qualifications include the ability to work under pressure, physical stamina for labour and heavy lifting, and basic computer skills for email and timecard management. You should demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and commitment to safety standards.
Responsibilities include operating, servicing, and maintaining heavy equipment such as tandem trucks with attachments, motor graders, and front-end loaders for summer and winter maintenance. You will also operate advanced hydraulic systems for plows, wings, and sanders during snowstorms, maintain accurate records of operations, and perform pre-trip inspections.
