The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Providing specialized nursing care for Woodland Wellness Centre participants
Evaluating participant progress and update care plan based on nursing assessment
Performing nursing treatment and procedures as ordered by the physician which would include, but not limited to: Sterile dressings, injections, medication administration, monitoring blood pressures and monitoring blood glucose level
Transcribing medications to the medication administration record (MAR) and update weekly
Develop comprehensive care plans, monitor and adjust participants care on an ongoing basis
Maintaining participant confidentiality as per the Lac La Ronge Indian Band policy
Documenting appropriate information on participants health record.
Acting as a participant advocate and liaison between community programs and LLRIB
Consulting Woodland Wellness Centre Team members and other health professionals and service providers as needed
Providing information and resources to participants that will benefit and promote their safety and wellbeing upon returning home
Adhering to policies, standards, procedures and nursing practices as outlined in Saskatchewan First Nations Guidelines for Home Care Nursing Policy and Procedure
Interpreting existing programs and services to the participants.
Promoting education on health and healing by providing power point presentations on addictions and recovery
Assisting in preparation, development, and review of policy and procedures, and presenting to others when required
Other work-related duties as assigned by Immediate Supervisor
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Registered with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS) or CRNS or RPNAS
In good standing with the CLPNS, or CRNS or RPNAS
Minimum two years of experience is required
Ability to work effectively as a team member
