Description

The Ministry of Social Services offers dynamic, challenging work, competitive salary with increments, comprehensive benefits including pension, psychological and physical safety, vacation and earned days off, inclusive work environments, advancement opportunities, and flexible work arrangements. We are committed to workplace diversity and creating an environment where all employees feel valued and respected. This position provides meaningful work that impacts individuals and families in need. We seek an energetic, empathetic individual to join as a Community Services Worker in Regina, supporting citizens with intellectual disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural competence, respect multicultural beliefs, especially First Nations and Mtis, and understand social issues such as diversity, poverty, and systemic challenges. Strong knowledge of social work principles, practices, theories, and intervention strategies is essential, along with the ability to remain calm in conflict, conduct interviews, assess needs, and apply policy and legislation, including the Saskatchewan Assistance Act and related programs.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work or Indigenous Social Work and related experience, plus a valid drivers license for required travel within or between communities. The work environment is varied, including office-based tasks, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions with clients and partner organisations.
