We are seeking a full-time Family Law Legal Assistant with experience to join our fast-paced firm beginning in January of 2026.
Key Responsibilities include:
Performing routine clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, filing, basic document preparation, organization, distribution of ingoing and outgoing mail, and arranging couriers.
Maintaining client files, filing systems, and electronic client database.
Preparing conflict searches, opening and closing files, general office organization and administration.
Assisting with billing, account follow-ups, and bookkeeping.
Communicating with Court staff and other law firms.
Typing and reviewing letters, documents, and other materials from instructions or precedents.
Performing complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents.
Answering the phone, responding to inquiries, and relaying messages.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education and must be able to successfully pass a criminal record check and maintain confidentiality.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, OneDrive, and Excel) is required.
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated client service focus.
General knowledge of the practice of law is considered an asset.

Expected salary depends on experience. The position includes a comprehensive benefit package and three weeks of vacation annually. Hours of work and earned days off are negotiable, with the expectation of an average of 37.5 hours per week.
