Responsibilities:
-Assists in scheduling the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) activities in the environmental database
-Conducts environmental sampling to meet EMP requirements
-Assists in applying for a permit for all drilling, land clearing, etc., projects as required
-Assists in maintaining comprehensive master files of all environmental data and operational records
-Assists in the compilation and evaluation of data when requested, including preparation and submission of regulatory reports
-Assists the Environmental Supervisor with special projects
-Assists with developing and delivering environmental training
-Oversees equipment calibration and maintenance in the Environment Group
-Assists in operating the hazardous waste lay down and waste disposal facilities
-Prepares and submits reports
-Assists the Environmental Supervisor in issuance, investigation, and follow-up of environmental non-conformances
Skills and Qualifications:
-An Environmental Technician Diploma, relevant education, or equivalent work experience
-Several years of environmental experience in the mining field (preferably uranium) is an asset
-Training in sampling techniques, equipment operation, and calibration
-Must have good writing skills, as well as experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
-Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewans North (RSN). Athabasca residents will be given priority
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake
-14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
-Must be physically fit (must be capable of sustained physical activity including: walking, climbing, and lifting)
-Experience operating snow machines, boats, and all-terrain vehicles is an asset
-Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
