The Ministry of Correction, Policing and Public Safety offers a challenging and rewarding career opportunity as a Special Constable  Scale Officer. This role focuses on protecting highway infrastructure and ensuring the safety of all users by monitoring commercial vehicle compliance with safety standards through permanent inspection stations. We are seeking highly motivated, team-oriented individuals with strong interpersonal and communication skills who can promote cooperation and professionalism while interacting with enforcement agencies and the transportation industry. Candidates must be adaptable to shift work, travel with overnight stays, and meet physical and medical standards, including SOPAT. Key qualifications include a valid Canadian drivers license, First Aid Certificate with AED, and successful completion of a psychological assessment. Training will cover commercial vehicle enforcement, the CVSA North American Standard Inspectors course, and the use of force to Saskatchewan Police College standards. Responsibilities include enforcing transportation legislation, inspecting vehicles for safety and compliance, checking operator credentials, conducting investigations, laying charges, preparing reports, and appearing in court. This position requires attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to public safety.
