Description

Overdose Outreach Worker is responsible for engaging, educating, supporting & referring at-risk, marginalized & vulnerable individuals to supportive services. Temp position until March 31, 2027.

RESPONSIBILITIES  
-Provide outreach & support services to individuals & their families  
-Connect clients with health care & community services  
-Develops, implements & adjusts individualized treatment plans  
-Participate in meetings to coordinate & manage client care issues  
-Arrange, escort & accompany individuals on appointments & other activities.  

SKILLS/ABILITIES  
-Strong communication & interpersonal skills; able to form therapeutic relationships with clients & successful working relationships with other agencies.  
-Knowledge & experience in Trauma Informed Practice, Harm Reduction & Recovery Oriented Care.    
-Must be capable of assuming responsible leadership & role modeling behaviors  
-Work independently & collaboratively    
-Understand the social, cultural & economic circumstances of our clients  
-Demonstrate cultural sensitivity  
-Knowledge & experience in providing culturally safe & competent care  
-Ability to establish rapport, provide support & advocate for a diverse range of clientele  
-Flexibility & adaptability in a dynamic environment  
-Direct service delivery & advocacy experience with community-based & provincial support services & systems  
-Knowledge of social justice, health promotion, & public health approaches with a strong understanding of the social determinants of health.  
-4 on 4 off rotation(days/evenings/nights)

Education & Experience  
-Bachelors degree in human services-related field such as social work, nursing, mental health, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education/training/experience.  
-Experience working with people with substance use or mental health
