The Payroll Officer is responsible for processing and administering payroll in an accurate and timely manner for various employee groups ensuring high standards of financial accountability and client service delivery throughout the school division.
What will make you successful:
Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, or a related discipline, with preference on a specialty in accounting and/or payroll administration.
Completion of Level 1 Payroll Compliance Legislation (PCL) of the National Payroll Institute Course.
Minimum three years of related experience.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational and record keeping skills.
Excellent analytical and communications skills.
Knowledge of applicable legislation governing payroll, applicable Administrative Procedures and general accounting practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and with an automated human resources/financial system. Experience processing school division payroll is an asset.
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
