Description

Join our team as a Carpenter!

The Carpenter performs skilled carpentry work on construction, renovation, and maintenance projects across agency properties. This includes framing, drywall, finishing, flooring, cabinetry, and installation of doors and windows. The Carpenter interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete tasks accurately and according to code. They coordinate with the Construction Superintendent to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and manage tools and equipment on site. The role requires collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to support successful project completion.

Duties and Responsibilities

Services
* Perform skilled carpentry work related to construction, renovation, and general improvements across agency properties, including framing, drywall, finishing, flooring, and millwork.
* Install doors, windows, partition walls, and complete layout modifications as required.
* Interpret blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions to complete tasks accurately and in accordance with building codes.
* Plan and prioritize assigned construction tasks and communicate estimated timelines to stakeholders.
* Meet with on-site staff and project teams to evaluate progress and address issues as they arise.
* Update a scheduling and record-keeping system for assigned construction and renovation tasks.
* Maintain a safe and healthy environment for participants, staff, and the
* Identify and report on issues related to fire and building code compliance.
* Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety, WHIMIS standards, and other applicable legislation.
* Complete reports and documentation clearly, accurately, in a timely manner, and within agency standards.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
