The Role
Reporting to the supervisor, site services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of a variety of mobile equipment in order to maintain site infrastructure, roads, and airstrip.
In this role, you will:
-Operate mobile equipment, including loaders, sand trucks, buses, road rollers, skid steer, and vac trucks;
-Operate a variety of mobile equipment to support bagging of aggregates and batching of concrete to service the needs of the mine;
-Practice safe work habits and comply with company safety policies;
-Complete daily operator care rounds, ensuring proper machine startup, operation, and shutdown procedures;
-Assist with preventative maintenance when appropriate; and
-Perform manual labour as required, including regular lifting of materials and luggage.
Required:
-Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
-One to three years of relevant work experience
-Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
-Experience with loaders, sand truck, bus, road roller, skid steer, and vac truck
-Safety-oriented team player
-Able to clearly communicate with team members when needed
-Able to safely lift and carry heavy objects
-Basic computer operation will be involved
-Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
-Mechanically inclined: able to identify issues that may arise during operation and provide accurate description of problems to maintenance personnel
-Experience in a concrete batch plant, including batching, handling, and delivering concrete
-ACI (American Concrete Institute) Certification
