Description

The Ministry of Social Services invests in positive outcomes for people through income support, child and family services, supports for persons with disabilities, and affordable housing. We work with citizens to build better lives through economic independence, strong families, and vibrant communities.

We are seeking dynamic individuals committed to improving the lives and well-being of children and families to join our team as Child Protection Assistant Supervisors. In this role, you will supervise, manage, and implement programs that provide protective, preventative, and support services to children, parents, and foster families using the Family Centered Case Management and P.R.I.D.E. Models of Practice.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership through respect and empowerment, coaching and mentoring staff, and supporting service delivery between programs and partner agencies. You will act as a liaison with First Nations Child and Family Services and community organizations, and may represent the Ministry on committees. Knowledge of Ministry policies, the Child and Family Services Act, and PRIDE Manuals is essential.

To succeed, you will work effectively with colleagues and caregivers, have expertise in child abuse, neglect, and domestic violence indicators, and understand multicultural beliefs and values, particularly First Nations and Mtis. Experience with social work theories and coaching professional staff is required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are critical.

If you have a passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of children and want to join a collaborative, dedicated team focused on strengthening communities and cultures, this opportunity is for you.
