The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, IT Division, delivers IT services across government, including infrastructure, application support, data management, reporting, project delivery, and enterprise planning. The Architecture and Planning Branch has an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented professional to support technical standards, technology planning, and implementation of IT solutions within the governments environment.
As a Technical Business Analyst reporting to the Manager, Architecture, you will assist with solution design, technology planning, and standards development; support governance boards through design reviews and process audits; perform detailed analysis and reporting on technology and application assets; research solution options and technology trends; and coordinate reviews and approvals of technical policies and standards.
Ideal candidates will have knowledge of emerging and current IT trends, including cloud computing; IT applications and platforms such as desktop and server hardware/software, network technologies, operating systems, and storage; best practice frameworks for high-quality IT delivery; and IT methodologies including Business Analysis, Process Mapping, Project Management, IT Service Management, and Enterprise Architecture.
Typically, this knowledge is obtained through a degree in Computer Science supplemented by several years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication skills to explain technical information clearly, analytical ability to evaluate options and make recommendations, and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate effectively are essential.
