Description

The Public Guardian and Trustee of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly organized and energetic individual to join the Accounting Unit. This position performs accounting and administrative duties that support client financial management and investment activities.

As part of the team, you will handle receptionist duties, assist with opening, scanning, and distributing mail, and perform pre-audit functions on client expenditures and income, including reconciling charges and deposits. You will process and record transactions, compile financial information for investment decisions, and prepare correspondence related to segregated investments and personal taxation, including communication with the Canada Revenue Agency and financial advisors. Additional responsibilities include performing bank deposits, updating assets, and maintaining accurate records.

Our ideal candidate will have strong accounting and computer skills, knowledge of office and filing procedures, and the ability to prepare clear, concise correspondence. Experience processing complex income and expense transactions in a high-volume environment is essential. You must be able to interpret and apply regulations and policies, work independently, and contribute as a team player. Professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail are key.

Typically, the required knowledge and skills are obtained through completion of a diploma in accounting or business administration combined with related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

We are committed to workplace diversity.
