The Community Advisory Circle Coordinator serves as a key liaison between elders, community leaders, and healthcare providers to ensure culturally appropriate communication, engagement, and support for medical and wellness needs within the community. This role involves organizing meetings, maintaining relationships, and ensuring that the voices and perspectives of elders and community members are reflected in health-related initiatives and services.
Key Responsibilities:
o Act as a bridge between elders, community leaders, and healthcare professionals to facilitate understanding and collaboration.
o Coordinate and schedule regular Advisory Circle meetings and consultations.
o Support elders and community members in accessing health and wellness resources.
o Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and reports summarizing key discussions and recommendations.
o Maintain contact lists, meeting records, and communication logs.
o Communicate updates and feedback between the Advisory Circle and medical teams or program staff.
o Help design and distribute informational materials that reflect community values and needs.
o Assist in identifying community health needs, gaps, and potential solutions.
o Contribute to planning and evaluation of programs that support holistic community well-being.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in community development, social work, Indigenous studies, health sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience working with Indigenous communities or culturally diverse groups, particularly with elders and community leaders.
Additional Information:
Must possess a valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate community schedules.
