Job Description: The Nurse Educator will bring his/her specific expertise to provide a wide range of educational services, clinical support and mentoring to the Acute Care programs. The Nurse Educator, in consultation with the Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for overall planning and implementation of an educational program to address the needs of the staff, patients and their family. The Nurse educator provides development and leadership in the areas of clinical practice, education, research and quality improvement. The Nurse Educator is an experienced nurse who is an expert in the assigned clinical area. The Nurse Educator is a role model for staff in client/family care. The Nurse Educator is a change agent who supports others to adapt to changes in all clinical areas. The Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and evidence based research findings to provide support to health care professionals as appropriate.
