We are seeking a dedicated community mental health counsellor who is passionate about supporting the well-being of people and committed to culturally safe, trauma-informed care. This position offers a flexible work arrangement, including one remote workday per week, to be mutually agreed upon with the manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide culturally appropriate counselling that respects Indigenous traditions, healing practices, and worldviews
Collaborate with community members, Elders, and organizations to deliver holistic care
Integrate Indigenous and Western knowledge systems using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach
Address trauma related to historical and systemic oppression
Facilitate healing groups and community workshops on mental health, grief, trauma, and addiction
Support the development of community wellness initiatives
Promote positive client experiences within mental health and addiction systems
Qualifications:
Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related field.
Registered with a professional regulatory body
Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of Indigenous cultures
Training in trauma-informed and evidence-based therapeutic practices
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
