MGBHLM First Nation is looking for a qualified full-time Napew Program Worker. The Napew Program Worker is responsible for delivering Napew program. The Napew Program Worker will report to the Prevention Manager.
Duties:
Responsible for documenting all intakes for the program.
Responsible to participate in case planning with other service providers as required.
Responsible for providing information and referral services to individuals referred to the program.
Responsible for responding to requests for informational sessions on the program from schools and other agencies.
Responsible for referrals for addictions counselling services for program participants wishing to engage in treatment and counselling.
Responsible for coordination and facilitation of weekly sessions for men's groups.
Responsible for delivering the Napew Program for the community.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Certificates/diplomas in human services field and experience in human services field.
Have demonstrated knowledge in the area of family violence and its impact on the family.
Have demonstrated knowledge of aboriginal family systems.
Must demonstrate knowledge of traditional and cultural values of aboriginal peoples.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Must have a clean criminal record/vulnerable sector check.
Ability to speak Cree is a definite asset
Must demonstrate knowledge of computer applications.
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in human services field.
Must maintain an alcohol and drug free lifestyle.
Additional Requirements:
Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
Reliable transportation with a valid Drivers License
Criminal Record Check and willingness to sign an Oath of Confidentiality
Network with Family Services and Prevention staff.
Attend inter-agency meetings.
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Prevention Manager
