Street Culture Project is hiring a Treehouse Mentor to join our evening team and support our drop-in program for youth ages 13 to 24. In this role, you will help create a safe, welcoming space, walk alongside youth in their day-to-day challenges, and support belonging and resilience through mentorship, guidance, and group activities.
This role focuses on connection, encouragement, and presence. You will be part of the team that youth can rely on whether they are looking for resources, a safe place to spend time, or someone to talk to.
You will
-Build safe, supportive, and respectful relationships with youth
-Support youth with homework, resources, and everyday needs
-Co-facilitate wellness groups, recreational activities, and discussions
-Model healthy boundaries and provide mentorship that encourages belonging and growth
-Work collaboratively with other mentors and program staff to create a positive environment
We are looking for someone who can contribute compassion, consistency, and curiosity to the team.
-High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in youth work, social sciences, or education is an asset
-Evening availability (3:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday)
-Experience in youth work, mentorship, or education (paid or volunteer) is an asset
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries
-Commitment to SCPs core approaches: Harm Reduction, Youth-Centred Care, Trauma-Informed Practice, and Strength-Based Mentorship
-CPR/First Aid, ASSIST, or Mental Health First Aid training (asset)
Additional Requirements
-Valid SK Drivers License with clean abstract
-Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance (or willingness to obtain)
