What youll accomplish:
-Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical engineering design activities for the existing and new operations in Uranium Mining/Milling facilities
-Prepare equipment specifications, data sheets and tender documents for procurement of equipment
-Ensure mechanical/piping systems meet technical specifications, adhere to standards, and meet QA/QC requirements
-Support large multidisciplinary projects from conceptual to detailed engineering, continuing to construction and commissioning support
-Coordinate information requests during fabrication and construction and participate in shop and site visits
Qualifications and skills:
-Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
-Licensed Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan (or eligible for APEGS registration)
-15+ years of experience in mechanical system analysis, design, and construction
-10+ years of experience with engineering industrial projects
-Sound knowledge and application experience of the ASME B31.3, BPVC Section VIII and API 650 Codes
-Solid understanding of process, chemical, and slurry conveyance, piping, and tank design
-Extensive working knowledge of mechanical process equipment selection including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, etc.
-Experience with pipe stress analysis including specifying pipe supports pipe support would be considered an asset
-Ability to innovate in the areas of system efficiency, capital and operating cost optimization
-Experience working within or with other medium to large scale mining and processing organizations is considered an asset
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Ability to lead and interact in a team environment, as well as working independently
-Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with other departments
Work Location & Travel:
-Based in Saskatoon, SK
-Occasional travel to Orano mine and project sites as required
