Position Summary
A Boom Truck Driver operates a boom-equipped truck to lift, load, transport, and position materials on job sites. The role requires safe operation of the truck, crane, and related equipment while following industry regulations, load charts, and company policies. Drivers may also perform basic maintenance, secure loads, and assist with general job site labor.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
Operate boom truck and crane attachments to lift, move, and place materials safely and accurately.
Follow load charts, rigging standards, and lift plans.
Inspect boom, hoist, outriggers, and rigging equipment before each shift.
Safely transport materials between locations as needed.
Driving & Transport
Drive boom truck to and from job sites in compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
Secure loads properly using chains, straps, and rigging equipment.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip sheets, and inspection records.
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to OSHA guidelines, DOT rules, and company safety protocols.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report mechanical issues promptly.
Set up and use outriggers, stabilizers, and protective equipment correctly.
Participate in safety meetings and required training.
Job Site Support
Coordinate with supervisors, ground crews, and signal persons for safe lifting operations.
Assist with loading/unloading materials and equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized truck, boom, and work area.
Provide support as needed for general labor tasks on the site.
