Job Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of the Health Authority through provision of safe quality nursing care to clients. He/she is responsible to the Manager of a designated area. The Registered Nurse implements nursing practice within the framework of the nursing process including: a) Assessment: includes collection of relevant information about biophysical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual factors which contribute to wellness and diagnosis - a nursing judgment about a client, family or community which is derived through a process of data analysis, b) Planning: includes goal setting and selection of appropriate interventions, c) Intervention: action based on rationale that is expected to benefit the client in a predicted way, and d) Evaluation: effectiveness of interventions in meeting the goals identified in the Care Plan, along with ongoing assessment data in order to revise diagnoses, outcomes and the plan of care as needed. Provides supervision to support staff in activities related to client care. Supervises students in activities related to client care.
