Position Summary
The role of this position is to provide supervision to the Home Visitors in the KidsFirst (KF) program for the Settlement, Family and Community (SFC) Department. Ensures that the program functions according to the terms and conditions outlined in the program contract, as well as, ensuring day-to-day program operation meets with the overall mandate of the organization. Responsible for the training and supervision of staff in the department. Supervises and guides staff in meeting program objectives. Responsible for overseeing maintenance of records and statistics and directly responsible for program statistics and for writing and submission of program reports. In cooperation with the SFC Senior Manager and/or Director, assists in the preparation of program applications, on-going contract negotiations and recruitment of new home visitors staff.
Program coordination and demonstrated clinical supervisory skills are necessary, as well as extensive knowledge of and experience working with newcomer parents and families (ex. child development and effective parenting considering cultural values). Requires knowledge of community resources, methodologies and experience with in-home services, as well as experience in teamwork, interagency and interdisciplinary approaches. Effective organizational, communication (verbal and written) computer and administrative skills are also essential. Must have the ability to travel and work flexible hours.
