Educators support and implement child-care programs, promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts. Set snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods. Provide written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors. Discuss progress and challenges of children at staff meetings.
Employee benefits:
Starting wages for candidates that met the credential requirements is $15.79 per hour for Level I, $16.59 per hour for Level II and $19.09 per hour for Level III. All certified ECE's are also eligible to receive an additional $5.85/hr to $8.85/hr top up to starting wages through the current government wage enhancement grant. Educators will also be entitled to receive tuition reimbursement and paid study time for courses relating to Early Childhood Education. The Centre also provides full benefits paid by the employer upon completion of three-month probation period.
Credential Requirements
The Centre is seeking individuals with Early Childhood Education Level I, Level II, or Level III certification or equivalent.
Experience working with children an asset.
