Description

Our programming coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director initially, and eventually with the Communications Director and the Advocacy Coordinator to expand the scope of our current operations. Specifically, this will involve student engagement programming to meet UR Prides mandate of support for the on-campus 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Programming at UR Pride will have three primary facets: Education, Entertainment, and Outreach. This will be an in-person role.

Responsibilities:

1.    Co-facilitating with the Executive Director or facilitating solo all programs

2.    Developing engaging programming from concept to execution for UR Pride members and non-members from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community

3.    Evaluating program effectiveness, attendance, participation, enjoyment, etc.

4.    Reaching out to community partners via email, text, social media, etc. to increase awareness of upcoming and ongoing programming.

Qualifications:

Experience in program development for young people

Experience in facilitating programming

Background in marketing, community engagement, or similar

Familiarity with 2SLGBTQIA+ history, culture and modern concerns

Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and mutual aid

Demonstrated understanding of intersectional anti-oppressive practices both professionally and interpersonally

Demonstrated willingness to think laterally and solve problems creatively

Familiarity with a variety of online platforms and apps

Lived experience as 2SLGBTQIA+ will be considered an asset

Lived experience as BIPOC and/or Indigi-queer will be considered an asset

Lived, current experience as a U of R student will be considered an asset
