The Content and Social Media Specialist implements content and social strategies across digital, paid, owned, and earned channels. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role turns strategy into action through content planning, production, and execution. The role manages the content library, leads blogging, supports photo and video production, and aligns all materials with brand standards and campaign goals.
The ideal candidate brings a customer-centred mindset, integrity, creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The role collaborates with agencies, contractors, and internal teams while supporting relationships that advance strategic priorities.
Key skills include coordinating content workflows, executing organic and paid social plans, managing communities across priority platforms, overseeing influencer deliverables, capturing content, and reporting performance through accurate analytics. The Specialist maintains organized asset management, supports timely content delivery, and ensures responsive community engagement.
The ideal candidate is proficient with content tools, social platforms, analytics dashboards, project management systems, and photography or videography. Three to five years of experience in content or social media roles and post-secondary education in marketing or a related field are preferred. Knowledge of Saskatoons tourism and business landscape is an asset.
