Under the direction of the Manager of Operations, the Building Operator 4 ensures the Mount Royal building and campus (including the heating and cooling plant, mechanical and electrical systems) are maintained and operated to provide a safe, clean, learning and working environment that is kept in a comfortable and presentable condition. The Building Operator 4 will act as a lead hand in organizing the daily and seasonal work of caretaking staff. The Building Operator 4 will act as the school divisions representative in dealing with our partners and tenants at the site.
Applicants for this position must possess Grade 12 or equivalent, a Fifth Class Engineers Certificate, and a Refrigeration Engineers certificate as assigned by the Saskatchewan Department of Labour or other certificates as required by management. Preference will be given to those holding a Fourth Class Engineers Certificate. A minimum of three years experience as a Building Operator is required, along with Level 1 and 2 Occupational Health & Safety training. Applicants must be able to utilize email, process maintenance requisitions, supply orders, staffing assignments, and operate the energy management system (e.g., schedule, alter set points, diagnose heating, cooling and ventilation issues).
The successful applicant will have demonstrated ability to work with diverse building users and act as a liaison with Maintenance and Operations Management. Candidates must be able to operate and maintain a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems, with strong diagnostic skills, including fire protection alarm and fire sprinkler systems. They must also be able to develop and carry out preventative maintenance programs and possess the physical ability to perform all duties.
