Description

The Ministry is offering an opportunity for individuals committed to improving the lives of children and families as a Child Protection Assistant Supervisor. This role supports programs that provide protective, preventative, and support services using the Family Centred Case Management and P.R.I.D.E. Models of Practice. The position requires leadership to coach, mentor, and guide staff, ensuring effective service delivery and collaboration with internal teams and partner agencies. The successful candidate will demonstrate respect, empowerment, and strong decision-making while liaising with First Nations Child and Family Services and community organizations. We seek professionals with knowledge of child abuse, neglect, domestic violence, and social work theories, as well as expertise in policy and practice. Understanding multicultural beliefs, particularly First Nations and Mtis, is essential. Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are required to manage sensitive situations and support caregivers and children in care. Responsibilities include providing guidance in supervisor absence, assisting with placements, and representing the ministry on committees. Typically, qualifications include experience in child and family services and the ability to coach and mentor staff effectively.
