Description

The Ministry of Social Services, Child and Family Programs, North Service Area, is seeking Emergency Duty Workers for Buffalo Narrows and/or Pinehouse in permanent part-time positions. These roles provide critical after-hours emergency services to families and report to a Child and Family Supervisor. Hours vary based on emergency callouts, and there are no guaranteed hours. The ministry is looking for dedicated individuals committed to child safety and family well-being who can respond to urgent situations with professionalism and care. Successful candidates will investigate child abuse or neglect referrals, assess safety risks, develop crisis plans, and participate in a rotation for after-hours services. Additional responsibilities include transporting families, providing emergency financial aid, and supporting children in care. Candidates must have strong knowledge of human services policies, practices, and procedures, typically gained through a diploma or degree in a human services field and/or relevant experience. The role requires flexibility, travel, and the ability to lift and carry small children. A valid drivers license and legal eligibility to operate a vehicle in Saskatchewan are mandatory. Applicants should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Indigenous representation is a priority, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. If you are passionate about supporting families in crisis and ensuring child safety, this opportunity may be for you. Please use link provided to view full job description.
