The Jordans Principle Client Liaison Support will provide advocacy and support services to children and families that reside in the BOCN community. Reporting to the Jordans Principle Service Coordinator, the Client Liaison Support worker will assist in the Jordans Principle programs to ensure the quality of life for First Nations children improves and that the Treaty Rights in relation to health of community members are being met.
Prepare and document the needs and services for children whom require services
Become knowledgeable with Department of Indigenous Services Canada documentation related to the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Jordans Principle
Assist in the delivery of Jordans Principle programs on a continuing basis and modify programs for appropriateness
Promote a safe and healthy environment in homes, schools and throughout the community
Assist in creating a sustainable and accessible program for our children and their families for education and support in community
Assist in maintaining appropriate records for reporting purposes
Identify service providers and costs for services for clients
Knowledge of Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Jordans Principle; Knowledge of local services available to children and families; Knowledge and understanding of the Child Youth and Family Services Act; Knowledge of First Nations culture and language an asset; Maintains a high standard of professionalism; Maintains strict confidentiality practices.
